We encourage the use of Structurally Insulated Panels, (SIPS) in our builds, they are a high performance build system that bring many benefits.
The panels consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between two structural facings, typically oriented strand board (OSB). The result is a building system that is extremely strong, energy efficient and cost effective.
A well built home using SIPS panels will have a tighter building envelope and the walls will have higher insulating properties, giving you an airtight, pollutant free, healthier & warmer home with a decrease in operating costs. SIPS panels can be used for floors, walls & the roof.
The environmental performance of SIPS panels is very good due to their exceptional thermal insulation. They are resistant to damp & cold like compression shrinkage & cold bridging that cannot be matched by timber.
Building with SIPs will save you time, money and labour.
